Jitney, written by August Wilson, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Fences, which has been turned into a major motion picture, has opened on Broadway at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
The Manhattan Theatre Club production is directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson.
The production, set in Pittsburgh, PA in 1977, features scenic design by David Gallo.
Jane Cox designed the lighting for this original drama.
With original music by Bill Sims, Jr., the play features sound design by Darron L. West.
Toni-Leslie James designed the '70s period costumes.
The production is currently running through March 12.
