MB Productions Captures Path To Enlightenment At Dalai Lama Live At Radio City Music Hall
MB Productions (MBP), in association with Empire Entertainment, Healing the Divide, and The Tibet Center, was selected as the exclusive video specialist to capture His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama on October 12-14 at Radio City Music Hall.

For this enlightening event, MB Productions furnished a high definition camera flypack, which allowed the audience to see His Holiness up close via Radio City Music Hall’s in-house LED displays. The backbone of the system was the Folsom Screen Pro II HD-SDI switcher combined with four Sony HDC-1500 HD cameras. All footage was recorded on Sony HDW-D1800 HD cam recorders at 1080i.
In order for the director to view all sources and preview/program via one 42” plasma monitor in its native HD format, MBP specified the Evertz VIP multi display monitoring system. To provide intimate close-ups, the back of house cameras were fitted with Fujinon 86X HD lenses with image stabilization and the final session the system was augmented with a 24’ jib and a robotic camera provided by Atlantic Cine.
According to MBP’s system engineer Robert Grater, “The robotic camera gave us access to achieve close-ups without being intrusive to the audience.”
