Syn-Aud-Con is bringing a series of sound reinforcement seminars to a variety of locations.
In Providence, RI, Sound Reinforcement for Operators will be offered May 1-2, and Sound Reinforcement for Technicians will be given May 3-4. Discounts are available when both courses are combined.
In Sound Reinforcement for Operators, microphone selection, mixer setup, and signal flow are extensively covered. The emphasis is on the practical rather than the theoretical, using real-world explanations of potentially complex subjects. Multimedia listening demonstrations drive the points home and convey a level of understanding that will help you head off problems before they occur. This is core for anyone involved in sound reinforcement. It covers the fundamentals, but it is not a beginner's course.
In Sound Reinforcement for Technicians, the theory behind how a system works is covered, while demonstrating how to use instrumentation to look "under the hood" to troubleshoot systems. Advanced topics such as crossover adjustments and equalization are presented in a technical, yet practical manner. This course will teach you how the systems work and how to fix them when they don't. The principles presented in the Technicians course are built on those discussed in the Operators course, we recommend the Operators as a prerequisite for this seminar. This course is for those who install, configure and calibrate sound reinforcement systems.
