Meyer Sound has announced that Kurt Metzler has been appointed to the newly created position of northwest regional sales manager as part of the company’s effort to build a stronger sales structure in the western US region. Metzler’s territory will cover Alaska, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming and he will be based out of Bothell, WA.

Metzler’s well-rounded background includes stints as a live sound engineer, sound company owner, founder and owner of a successful professional audio retail store, and manufacturer’s representative, as well as high-level positions at Radian Loudspeakers, Sennheiser Electronic, and LOUD Technologies. Armed with first-hand field experience and familiarity with sales at every level, Metzler is fully prepared to provide the northwest region with the knowledgeable and personalized service for which Meyer Sound is known.

“Kurt’s background could hardly be better for us,” says Helen Meyer, Meyer Sound’s executive vice president. “He knows loudspeakers, he’s seen the industry from several sides, and he has been very successful both at sales and keeping his customers happy. When I talk with him, Kurt has been very excited about what Meyer Sound is doing and at becoming part of it. Kurt’s enthusiasm is infectious and, combined with his experience, makes us confident that the northwest region is in the best hands with him.”

In order to maintain the level of close attention to customers that the company has always emphasized, Meyer Sound divided the West (previously covered by former western regional sales manager Jim Sides, now managing director of Meyer Sound’s German office) into northwest and southwest regions. Another just-hired audio veteran, Will Lewis, will cover the southwest region.

“Meyer Sound has long set the pace for professional loudspeaker technology, which has always been my passion,” says Metzler. “Now, the company is diving into digital audio while continuing to bring out one great loudspeaker after another, so I can’t imagine a better time for me to joining. I am really looking forward to bringing all of that to the Pacific northwest.”
