New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Department of Design for Stage and Film is presenting its annual Student Design Showcase, highlighting the work of its 2006 MFA class, May 3-10 (noon-8pm). Twenty graduating students will show off their design wares in the film and theatre set, costume, and lighting design disciplines.

On May 2, the department will hold a preview (3–5pm) prior to an opening reception (5–8pm) which invites NYU alumni, theatre and film design professionals to view the MFA students’ work on productions and studio projects for theatre, film, and dance in a variety of formats, including scale models for theatre and film, actual costumes, photographs, and sketches. Additionally, on Saturday, May 6th, the students will be present to discuss their work from 2pm – 5pm.

The design show will be held at the Tisch School of the Arts Department of Design for Stage and Film, 721 Broadway (between Waverly and Washington Places), on the third floor. Admission is free; the exhibit is open to the public. For more information, call 212- 998-1950.
