Launching a new website concept at LDI2003, TOMCAT USA introduced The Lodestar, a web-store created just for Columbus McKinnon Lodestar Chain Hoists and all the thousands of parts and accessories that accommodate them.

The Lodestar will offer Next Day Service, have live representatives to answer all customer questions, and will be just a mouse click away. Officially opening for business on January 1,2004, The Lodestar will not only be the one stop shop to buy online parts and accessories, it will also contain an extensive database of answers for troubleshooting questions.

TOMCAT USA’s CEO, John James, explains, “We certainly want The Lodestar website to contain as much technical information as possible, but more importantly, we want everyone to have quick access to every part for every motor any where in the world.” Stocking one of every part for every motor and offering next day service on orders placed by 5pm PST, The Lodestar is sure to accomplish that task.

In addition to viewing the website at The Lodestar booth #843 at LDI, exhibitors were also able register to win a free Columbus McKinnon Prostar. Winning the 300lb Prostar is Rob Uehling with DMM Systems in South Dakota. Congratulations!

TOMCAT is also involved in the national tour of the hit Broadway musical Hairspray that opened in Baltimore, September 9th, 2003. TOMCAT USA, Fourth Phase, and Showmotion all worked on the scenic aspects of the tour.

TOMCAT manufactured eight sections of custom electrics truss with 64” swing ladders, and eight hanging towers with unistrut hanging bars, similar to the custom truss TOMCAT manufactured for The Producers, AIDA, and The Lion King tours. Other companies in the industry were also able to get involved on the project. The truss was powdered coated black and prepped at Fourth Phase New Jersey. TOMCAT was also able to provide 106 Columbus Mckinnon hoists to Showmotion for the tour. Running for a full year with only 11 stops around the States, the show will close in Los Angeles on September 9th, 2004.
