has added a new product to its award winning WDS Wireless Dimming System: the WDS Personal Dimmer. This tiny (3 1/4" x 4 1/4"” x 7/8” deep) wearable device combines a wireless DMX receiver with a five-ampere battery operated dimmer allowing costumes, scenery and props to be electrified and controlled by any DMX lighting console.
For the first time, designers will be able to incorporate complex electrical effects into stage elements and integrate them into the overall stage lighting by using wireless control and battery operated dimming. CTI’s president, Gary Fails, says of the WDS Personal Dimmer, “This product combines lighting and costumes and will find wide use in theme parks, Las Vegas shows, parades, and other venues where creative designers want to produce totally new lighting and costume effects. CTI has developed new technology that is truly unique and innovative.”
The WDS Personal Dimmer is compatible with the entire WDS range of wireless transmitters, receivers, and dimmers. City Theatrical WDS Wireless Dimming System installations are in use on a growing number of Broadway shows and national tours, including Fiddler on the Roof, Hairspray, Movin’ Out, Lion King, and Bombay Dreams.
