Since 1967, the world of entertainment has seen some spectacular design: Star Wars and Titanic, A Chorus Line and The Lion King, Pink Floyd’s The Wall tour and U2’s POPMart tour, Disney’s Epcot and Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure, and many, many more. For the special 35th anniversary issue of Entertainment Design, we want you to tell us: What were the most influential designs of the last 35 years?
Pick an entire project, a single designer’s contribution, or any combination therein. It can be the production design of an obscure indie film, the costumes of a big Broadway flop, the lighting of a particularly memorable regional theatre production, any of the projects mentioned above, or your first high school production. We're as interested in the personal selection as we are with those chosen in the broader context.
Please email your top three picks, along with a short description of why you chose them, to Entertainment Design editor David Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org. See if your picks match those of our panel of experts!
HURRY! THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO FRIDAY, MAY 3 ONLY.
