has produced a guide to animation effects for the MAC 2000 Performance. Released this past spring, the 1,200W MAC 2000 Performance's animation feature has proved a popular feature. The animation disc can be controlled via DMX to adjust starting position, rotation direction, and speed. Alignment can also be set--horizontal, vertical or anywhere in between. Plus, the animation disc can run continuously or in an indexing mode. The system offers lighting designers a wealth of projection possibilities through the use of animation discs, and was recently enhanced with the launch of a set of six new animation wheel designs.
The guide is currently available on the Martin website as a download from the service section and on the website's MAC 2000 Performance page. It will also be incorporated into each MAC 2000 Performance user manual. The guide explains each animation disk in detail and offers tips on how to achieve a wide variety of effects. Further in the guide are some specific examples of effects that can be achieved and the gobos that are necessary to recreate them.
