New Director of Sales Division

Bandit Lites announces the appointment of a new director of the sales division, John Rolison. "I am confident that John has the initiative and drive to lead our sales force and take us to the next level," said Bandit CEO Michael Strickland. Prior to his appointment, Rolison was Bandit Lites’ national sales consultant. "I look forward to the challenges that this new position will bring," Rolison said.

Dixie Stampede

Dixie Stampede, a highly successful family dinner show themed around horses and the classic conflict of North versus South, has chosen Bandit Lites to provide showstopping illumination for its fourth facility to be located in Orlando Florida. Bandit Lites will provide the Orlando facility with two lighting systems for two different rooms, lighting for a preshow with live music and a larger arena system for the main show. Lighting system and show design are by Broadway lighting designer Ken Billington.

The lighting system consists of over 600 Electronic Theatre Controls' Sensor dimmers with a Unison house light control system, with Flying Pig theatrical controls in each room. ETC Source Four fixtures as well as Martin and Coemar moving lights round out the fixture package. Bandit Lites’ own Chris Barbee and John Rolison have worked extensively over the past months to ensure a complete system and smooth installation. The facility grand opening is scheduled for early summer 2003.

God’s Leading Ladies

T.D. Jakes has been named as one of Time magazine’s 100 Innovators. The charismatic bishop is taking his message and God’s Leading Ladies on the road and Bandit Lites will be there to light the way. LD Seth Jackson has created a dynamic lighting atmosphere to enhance the emotional nature of the performance that is known for breaking attendance records. Bandit Lites is providing 21 MAC 600s, 13 MAC 2000 Wash units, and a Flying Pig Systems Wholehog II Console. Crew chief for the tour is Andy Knighton.

Erasure

It’s a global adventure for popular '80s techno-pop gurus Erasure as they take The Other Tour on the road. Bandit Lites is providing the lighting for the tour to support the album Other People’s Songs. Bandit is working with veteran LD Pip Rhodes, whose dramatic use of light brings visually stunning elements to the set. Bandit Lites also provided the lighting for the European leg of the tour.

Bandit Lites is providing 12 Martin Professional MAC 300s, eight Vari*Lite® VL2202s™, four Wildfire UV units, 12 Pulsar ChromaBanks, two Reel EFX DF50 hazers, two Lycian 1271 followspots, and an Avolites Pearl 2000 desk. Crew for the tour includes tour manager Andy Whittle, lighting technicians Steve Hoover, Ewan Cameron, and Richard Hutton, and production manager Ian Faddie.
