Barbizon Electric is looking for a Project Manager who can work within the construction community and coordinate the installation of theatrical lighting and rigging equipment for permanent installations.

Barbizon Electric, the NYC division of Barbizon Lighting Company has been providing the entertainment industry with lighting supplies for more than 50 years. The New York City office services customers in Manhattan, Long Island, areas of upstate New York and New Jersey. The Systems Division specializes in installing entertainment lighting and rigging equipment in venues such as professional theatres, television studios, retail stores, schools, universities, and themed environments.

Responsibilities include working with customers and manufacturers to execute contract work, coordinate deliveries, layout system designs, review construction documents, track progress and attend/ coordinate job-site meetings.

Required Skills Include:

  • Strong technical theatre or studio background

  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

  • Strong verbal and written skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Computer: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows

  • Valid drivers license

CAD/ Visio skills and construction experience a plus

The perfect candidate for this position has worked as a production manager on the road for several years and is now looking for a 8:30 to 5:30 M-F position with no weekend requirements.
