Microphone manufacturer AKG Acoustics has appointed Paul Jenkins to the newly created position of US national sales manager. The announcement was made by Garry Templin, AKG Acoustics, US VP of sales and market development, at the NSCA show in Dallas.

In his new role, Jenkins will manage the company's national sales force, including the 15 independent sales firms representing the AKG Acoustics line of products. Jenkins has been serving as AKG's Western regional sales manager since March 2002. His position will report to Garry Templin.

"Paul's tremendous understanding of our product line and the customers we serve has played a key role in AKG's extraordinary success in the Western US," explains Templin. "His integrity, character and hard work have earned him the trust of the industry. We are delighted he accepted the position of national sales manager."

"I am honored and excited," says Jenkins. "I am truly fortunate to be part of a team that is second-to-none. Our sales team is backed by an engineering team that has been creating the world's greatest products for a very long time."

Prior to joining AKG, Jenkins served for six years as a regional sales manager for Audio-Technica. Before that, Jenkins was a district sales manager and manufacturer's sales pep for Kaman Corp., a distributor of musical instruments and related products.
