, manufacturer of intelligent LED-based illumination technologies, has appointed Chris Davis vice president, North American sales and Joop van Aard vice president, international sales.

Davis has more than 25 years of experience in business development, sales, and strategic partnering in the high-tech, manufacturing automation, and software industries, both in the US and abroad. Prior to arriving at Color Kinetics, he held the Singapore-based position of managing director and president, Asia Pacific operations, for Varta Batteries Private Limited. Previously, he held sales and marketing positions with Schneider Automation, AEG Modicon, Automatix, Inc., Pfizer Medical Systems, and IBM. Davis was also a founder of Measurex Automation Systems, a software development company. He received a BS in chemistry from Jacksonville University and an MBA from The Florida State University. He also served in the United States Navy, Commander Amphibious Squadron Six, and achieved the rank of Lieutenant.

Van Aard has already helped establish the company's European sales operations based in the Netherlands. Just prior to Color Kinetics, he held the position of vice president, Europe, Middle East, and Africa for Juniper Networks. He is an international telecom industry veteran, holding senior operational management positions with large organizations such as Lucent Technologies and Cisco Systems as well as start-ups like Redback Networks and Unisphere (acquired by Juniper Networks). He holds a BSc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Brabant.
