Bob Bonniol is a production designer who specializes in the use of scenic video systems and content, as well as interactive video installations.
His breakthrough-interactive LED installations serve as the centerpiece in four new atriums anchoring the newly constructed Microsoft E & D Campus, in Redmond, Washington.
He currently serves as Blue Man Groups resident design/consultant for implementing interactivity and specialized video phenomena in all of their productions world wide.

Diddy on Jimmy Kimmel and in his BET broadcast recording; video system and interactive system design for the current Blue Man Group National Tour; video design for the Broadway-bound musical, Catch Me If You Can; video design for America’s Got Talent Live 2010; video design for Creed’s 2009/2010 World Tour; video design for Nickelback’s enormous Dark Horse Tour 2009/2010; production, direction, and production design for Journey’s 30th Anniversary Live DVD, Revelations (certified platinum); production design (set, video, and lighting) for Handel’s Messiah Rocks for PBS with the Boston Pops (Emmy nominated); projection design for the world premiere of the opera, Frobisher, at Calgary Opera; video content design for R. Kelly’s Double Up World Tour 2007/2008, production design and direction for LeAnn Rimes’ 2007 tour in support of her new album, Family; video and production designs for Nickelback’s All The Right Reasons World Tour with Puddle of Mudd, Daughtry, and Staind, in arenas and stadiums; multimedia design for Sinatra Live at the London Palladium; scenic video design for Grammy-winning rockers 3 Doors Down’s 2005/2006 World Tour; video content design for Barry Manilow’s Emmy Award-winning show, Music & Passion, at the Las Vegas Hilton; production/video/lighting design for the new breakout band, Cartel, in their Live DVD release. His design of the 10 minute spectacular, Power Up, served as the premiere piece for the epic new LED roof screen at The Place in Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games.

Bob developed and chaired the Media Design for Live Performance MFA program in the Theatre Department at The California Institute for the Arts. He has lectured on projection and digital lighting at numerous LDI trade shows; at INFOCOMM; in Master Classes at The Banff Centre; at Western Washington University; and in The Projection Design Master Classes sponsored by Live Design Magazine.
He is currently on the Industry Advisory Board for BARCO, as well as serving as Industry Consultants for ETC, PRG, TMB, and Green Hippo. He is a frequent collaborator with Disney Imagineering in Blue Sky projects.
Bob was named, in 2010, to Live Design’s list of the 50 Most Influential People in Entertainment Design and Technology.
His production company, MODE Studios, is headquartered in Seattle Washington. MODE Studios has provided equipment integration, production, and programming expertise for projection and media design to Young Frankenstein (Broadway), No Doubt’s 2010 World Tour, Nine Inch Nail’s 2008/2009 tour, Blue Man Group (Vegas, Orlando, NY, world tour), Disney’s World of Color, The James Nachtway “Wish” for the TED Foundation, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, Tim McGraw, George Michael, and American Idol on Tour among others.
