Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. announces the US launch of two new models within the NEXO GEO S Series product line: GEO S 1210 and GEO S 1230. The new speakers share many of the same characteristics of the other boxes within the GEO S speaker line and are currently available.

The GEO S 1210 and S 1230 have a 10° and 30° horn dispersion difference and are intended to be a scalable building block that can be stacked or positioned in a horizontal or vertical array. When positioned in a vertical array, the two models have a higher SPL output then standard GEO S boxes.

“These new boxes strengthen the NEXO S series offerings and provide contractors and sound companies with more options for clients with budgetary or design restrictions,” states Marc Lopez, marketing manager, Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. “When using GEOSoft2 and a NEXO EtherSound digital controller, the models offer absolute predictability and integration with Yamaha’s digital product line.”

Vertical mid- and high-frequency pattern control is array-dependent. Horizontal mid- and high-frequency coverage is configurable at 80° or 120°. The two-way modules achieve exceptional mid- and low-frequency output from a single 12-in. speaker and 16? nominal impedance. The high-frequency voice coil component measures 1 x 3-in., with a 1.4-in. throat 16? driver on a 30° hyperboloid reflective wave source. The 30° trapezoid-shaped speaker measures 27.17-in. x 14.15-in. x 16.92-in. with array assembly system and weighs 66.1 lbs. with the rigging assembly system.

For touring situations, the models use a crossbow flying hardware system, but when the sub-woofers are stacked, they do not require flying hardware. A full rigging compliment for all fixed and mobile applications will be offered. Cabinet exteriors are made of Baltic Birch-ply, with a textured black coating and molded dark grey metal grill front finish.

“The new GEO S models provide NEXO customers with even more choices and maintain the high sonic integrity of the NEXO speaker line,” states Albert Cardenas, speaker product manager, Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc.
