Designed by lighting designer and programmer Andrew Voller and distributed exclusively by City Theatrical, Moving Light Assistant is designed to document the physical setup and programming information for moving lights. It runs on Apple Mac OSX (Intel-only) and Microsoft Windows operating systems. Configuration documentation includes DMX mode and patch, gobo and color wheel loads, fixture menu options/DIP switch options, lenses, and lamps. Users can import data from several consoles, including ETC Eos, MA Lighting grandMA series 1, and High End Systems Wholehog 2, to document presets/palettes and cues with photos and descriptions. Photos can be imported from files or via tethering from a connected camera. It’s also possible to draw directly on top of the photos to describe the focus.
