ArKaos has released MediaMaster Express, the latest update of its media server software. Developed especially for small theatres, clubs, shops, bar installations, and freelance lighting designers, the software aims to help users setup a show and incorporate video quickly and cost-effectively using only a small lighting desk or the basic ability of DMX or MIDI synchronization. It uses a similar method used in the ArKaos VJ DMX Simple Mode of drag-and-drop of visuals on the interface, without the need for video recompression, and then assigning them to DMX or MIDI triggers. Control is via a computer keyboard and the software is compatible with both MAC and PC operating systems. Features include eight HD layers, organization of shows with up to 64 patches of 64 cells, control of up to three parameters per cell via DMX or MIDI, optional fade time on trigger, and onboard LED mapper.
