Bandit and Quo both began in the mid 60's and each has become the best in the world at their respective trades. Lighting designer Pat Marks and production manager Glen Smith continued the long-standing relationship with Bandit in 2010 as the power group stormed around the UK and Europe. From Pictures of Matchstick Men to the anthem Rockin' All Over the World, Quo has spread their infective style globally.
Marks patented lighting system for 2010 was another masterpiece, providing the band with yet another unique visual that was as impressive as it was large. With the usual suspects of ACL's, 8 lights, PARs and Source 4 Lekos, Marks would put his foot on the gas with Martin MAC 2000 Washes, Clay Paky Alpha Beams, Atomic Strobes, LED PARs and a full on LED screen, all provided by Bandit. Marks worked his magic with the Grand MA console speaking to Catalyst Media Servers. The show was an in your face full on rock and roll assault from start to finish.
Crew chief Ian “Mac” MacEwan, technician Tom Crosby and video technician Alain Demy kept the system on the road throughout 2010 and guaranteed success every night. Bandit C.E. Lester Cobrin is especially proud of Status Quo and loves working with such a well-oiled, professional machine. “Bandit and Quo are both experienced road veterans, and the marriage is a great one” says Cobrin.
Bandit looks forward to a great 2011with the Quo, who were presented with the OBE in the New Years Honours 2010, and then went on to perform at the Princes Trust Concert, also lit by Bandit. The 29th album Quid Pro Quo is due out this year and Pat Marks, Bandit and Status Quo promise a show unlike any other!
