L-ACOUSTICS' XTi series can be acoustically and mechanically modeled using the proprietary SOUNDVISION 3D simulation software or with the EASE/CATT data for acoustic design consultants. XTi enclosures bring cost-effectiveness and flexibility to installation projects thanks to a rationalized production and the implementation of the hybrid and flat presets found in the new LA-Network Manager v1.2.
The XTi series point-source technology is suited to distributed applications in semi-reverberant spaces where a single reflected source offers a more coherent radiation field with less reflected virtual sources than a dual horn-woofer combination. Point-source systems are also adapted to proximity applications such as stage monitoring, front-fills and under-balcony fills. The result is natural, studio monitor sound quality and the aural sensation of transparent sound.
Additionally, the LA4/8 makes the design of complex and sophisticated control systems possible with the integration of an Ethernet-based network capability, which allows for the simultaneous networking of up to 253 units. The LA-Network Manager software offers real-time remote control and monitoring of the amplified controllers via a user-friendly and intuitive graphic interface.
The 8XTi and 12XTi are expected to begin shipping in December of this year and will be available in maroon-grey and white as standard colors. A custom color program is also being offered, allowing the systems to match virtually any installation. List pricing for the new XTi system is still TBA.
About Coaxial Technology
By superimposing HF and LF acoustic centers in a coaxial design, a virtual point source brings significantly improved radiation characteristics. This is particularly valuable in distributed sound reinforcement applications where most listeners are located off the system axis. As the sound field of coaxial enclosures is stable over the entire frequency spectrum and in all directions, all listeners benefit from an even sonic performance within the enclosure beamwidth.
Coaxial technology has demonstrated numerous advantages over classic two-way systems, which typically suffer from destructive interference around the crossover point, resulting in lobing and uneven frequency and power response. The single point-source radiation yields excellent phase response, total wavefront coherency at all frequencies, and axi-symetrical directivity, which produces identical coverage patterns in both the horizontal and vertical planes.
L-ACOUSTICS is a leading innovator and manufacturer of high-performance loudspeakers, amplifiers and signal processing devices for touring and installed sound markets. Known around the globe for pioneering and championing the modern line array loudspeaker concept with V-DOSC, the company has received numerous accolades for its K1, KUDO, KIVA, ARCS, XT coaxial loudspeaker systems and SB line of subwoofer enclosures, all powered and processed with the LA4 and LA8 amplified controllers in fulfillment of a "total system approach." L-ACOUSTICS products for the North American market are manufactured and distributed by L-ACOUSTICS US of Oxnard, California.
