ATLANTA, GA – September 16, 2009 - Digital Projection International, an Emmy® Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, announced the brand-new CINEskin enclosure at CEDIA â€˜09 in Atlanta, Georgia. The new projector enclosure delivers numerous benefits to DPI's home entertainment customers, including a sleek outer appearance, pre-engineered thermal management, projector sound isolation and the integration of DPI's optional TheaterScope anamorphic solution.
The CINEskin enclosure consists of an elegant & streamlined outer cabinet, internal cooling fans, strategically placed sound isolation material, power and IR repeaters, and when ordered so equipped, an optional TheaterScope anamorphic lens/sled combination. Installation is simple due to pre-milled installation points in the bottom of the CINEskin enclosure. Once installed, access to the projector's input panel is simple by way of a pressure-activated magnetic panel.
In response to enthusiastic requests from home systems integrators, DPI's CINEskin was designed to seamlessly house any TITAN projector and the optional TheaterScope system, within an elegant enclosure suitable for even the most elite home cinemas. TheaterScope equipped displays utilize anamorphic optics to allow DPI's native 16 x 9 aspect ratio projectors to display both 1.78:1 and 2.35:1 content on fixed-height screens with no letterbox (horizontal black bars). When a 2.35:1 source is presented to the projector, the TheaterScope System is triggered and in tandem, the width of the 16 x 9 screen is increased to match 2.35:1 aspect ratio sources. The TheaterScope thus maintains a constant screen height while increasing the overall image area by 33%, as well as maintaining maximum projector lumens and resolution.
In addition to the CINEskin's aesthetic and functional features, the enclosure also acts as both sound dampener and thermal management system. Molded sound isolation material surrounds the projector and absorbs acoustic wavelengths, thus eliminating projector noise in the viewing environment. The CINEskin's internal cavity is also designed to efficiently disperse heat generated by the projector via a carefully engineered thermal management system. Low noise fans pull cool air into the front of the enclosure while additional fans simultaneously draw heat away from the projector and out the rear exhaust vent.
