The Mahler Project is a far cry from a typical symphony performance. Symphony No. 8 featured conductor Gustavo Dudamel leading not just the LA Philharmonic, but also the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, and the Los Angeles Children's Chorus as well.
To light the historic Shrine Auditorium venue for the night (as well as the many performers in play), Gray chose a fixture package from 4Wall LA. Included on her gear list were industry mainstays such as ETC Source Four Pars and Dimmer Racks coupled with Vari*Lite and Martin moving lights.
4Wall LA General Manager Jim Riendeau spoke of providing lighting for a symphony night at the Shrine:
“We are always proud to provide lighting for a classic LA venue like Shrine Auditorium, and we were especially grateful to be associated with this great night for the arts.”
