Osram Sylvania Showcases New LED Fixtures At LDI

North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA will be demonstrating the latest in lighting innovations at LDI 2013, including the OSRAM KREIOS® SL 3200K/60W fixture, an LED set light fixture for studio and theatre, and the OSRAM KREIOS® FLx 90W fixture, an LED flood light fixture for indoor and outdoor use.

Las Vegas, Nv. and Danvers, Mass. (November 22, 2013) –North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA will be demonstrating the latest in lighting innovations at LDI 2013, including the OSRAM KREIOS® SL 3200K/60W fixture, an LED set light fixture for studio and theatre, and the OSRAM KREIOS® FLx 90W fixture, an LED flood light fixture for indoor and outdoor use. Using OSLON LEDs from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors with a high color rendering index (CRI), the fixtures deliver years of high quality light and reliable, low-cost performance. OSRAM SYLVANIA will be demonstrating the KREIOS SL and KREIOS FLx fixtures and a full portfolio of solid state and traditional lighting solutions, controls and systems at Booth #641 at LDI 2013.

“OSRAM understands the needs of lighting designers in the entertainment industry and we focus that expertise into developing cutting-edge solutions that combine energy and cost savings with high quality illumination,” said Mark DeLorenzo, entertainment business manager, OSRAM SYLVANIA. “Our new OSRAM KREIOS LED fixtures are perfect for illuminating theatres, studios, museums, and even exterior settings with our KREIOS FLx and FL fixtures.”

Ideal as a set light for theatres and studios or for general wash illumination in museums, theme parks and retail, the OSRAM KREIOS SL 3200K/60W fixture delivers 3,000 lumens, equal to a traditional 250W halogen lamp, offering superior illumination while using only 60W of power. This translates to 75 percent less energy compared to halogen alternatives and substantial cost savings. These features helped the KREIOS SL fixture be selected for the 2013 Illuminating Engineering Society of North America Progress Report, which highlighted significant advancements in the art and science of lighting.

Dimmable via phase control systems to less than 5 percent, the LED set light fixture has a rated life of 30,000 hours (L70), 15 to 100 times the life of a typical halogen lamp. The 3200K color temperature and 95 CRI ensure accurate color rendering, crucial for showcasing attractive skin tones and eye-catching wardrobes in TV studios and theatres. Multiple mounting options and a 40 to 120 degree adjustable beam angle with locking position ring make it easy for the KREIOS SL 3200K/60W fixture to deliver high quality light exactly where it is needed. A fixed-focus 24 degree reflector is also available for applications requiring a tighter beam pattern. An orange-colored housing option is included, in addition to a barn door assembly, gel frame holder and base mount adapter. Additional accessories available for purchase include a 3m (10’) extension cable and spigot adapter for a light stand.

Designed for theatres and other large venues, the OSRAM KREIOS FLx 90W (Flood Light) fixture emits 5,000 lumens, having the same intensity as a 500W halogen fixture but using only 90W of power. With a high CRI of 95, the KREIOS FLx 90W fixture can provide accurate color rendering during theatre set work and rehearsals which helps stage crews save production lighting, typically very expensive with limited lamp life, for show time. The fixture is also offered with an OSRAM custom gel holder for quick color changes.

OSRAM SYLVANIA will also be showing the OSRAM KREIOS®FL 60W fixture, which emits 3,000 lumens and offers luminous intensity 50 percent brighter than a 300W halogen fixture but uses 80 percent less power, thus saving on electricity and ambient cooling costs. This highly successful fixture has been adopted in major amusement parks, universities and theatres around the country. With an estimated rated life of 40,000 hours (L70), 20 times longer than a traditional halogen lamp, the KREIOS FLx and FL fixtures yield significant savings not only in energy use but also in replacement lamp and labor costs as well. Both the KREIOS FL 60W and FLx 90W fixtures are easy to install and mount and, with an IP65 rating, can also be used to light large outdoor areas without weather protection.
