Who's Doing What

The John W. Engeman Theatre in Northport, NY has just wrapped up its second season with a production of Man of La Mancha, with set and costume design by Michael Bottari and Ronald Case, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, and sound design by Scott Stauffer…William Inge's play Picnic will be presented by Chicago's Saint Patrick Summer Theatre beginning August 1. The production team includes director Geoffrey Arndt, set designer Patrick Ham, costume designer Theresa Ham, lighting designer John Sanchez, and technical director Karl Sullivan…Niklas Pajanti has been nominated for a Helpmann Award for his lighting design for the Brink Production of Andrew Bovell's new play, When the Rain Stops Falling, which was presented at this year's Adelaide Arts Festival in Australia…The Studio Theatre in Washington, DC is producing Jerry Springer: The Opera through August 17 in the Metheny Theatre with director Keith Alan Baker, musical director Chris Youstra, set designer Giorgos Tsappas, projection/video and sound designer Erik Trester, lighting designer Justin Thomas, and costume designer Kristopher Castle…Lighting designer Chris Ragan designed the Gathering of the Vibes music festival, running August 1 to 3 in Stamford, CT…Bruce Ferri, lighting designer, helped dish out 26 Iron Chef shows in 14 days at the Food Network Studios in the Chelsea Market with programmer David Arch…New productions at The Metropolitan Opera in the 2008-2009 season include The Met premiere (on October 13) of Doctor Atomic by John Adams and Peter Sellars, with sets by Adrienne Lobel, lighting by James F. Ingalls, costumes by Dunya Ramicova, and sound by Mark Grey…The summer season at the Santa Fe Opera Festival includes Handel's rarely heard Radamisto with sets/costumes by Gideon Davey and lighting by Rick Fisher; and Adriana Mater, which reunites composer Kaija Saariaho, librettist Amin Maalouf, and director Peter Sellars, with sets by George Tsypin, costumes by Martin Pakledinaz, and lighting by James F. Ingalls. Performances run in rep through late August.
