After six years at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry, Cynthia Sharpe is joining Pasadena-based Thinkwell Design and Production as Director of Exhibits.

At Thinkwell, Sharpe will lead the museum exhibits effort, crafting exhibition strategy and comprehensive educational programming. She will also act as an advocate of exhibition design to both museums and museum patrons. Sharpe brings an understanding of the needs and concerns of North American museums to Thinkwell's growing list of exhibits and new museum projects.

"As we enter the museum market with blockbuster touring exhibits such as Mummy: Journey of the Dead and the Sesame Street Presents series we are being approached to create fresh new immersive exhibits for both existing and brand new institutions," says Joe Zenas, partner, Thinkwell's Events & Exhibits Group. "Dedicated to creating exhibits that are not only immersive and fresh to the patrons but institution friendly as well, we felt it was important to add someone to our team with expertise in the issues unique to museums."

While at MSI, Sharpe worked in both permanent and traveling exhibits, ultimately leading up the effort to both create and bring in spectacular shows. She crafted the temporary and traveling exhibits portion of the new strategic and experience master plans, as well as creating the business plan for MSI's entry into the traveling exhibits market.
