4Wall Entertainment-West announced the addition of Todd Mertzel as vice president of business development. Mertzel will be involved with rentals, sales, and 4Wall's new labor division.

Mertzel, who was most recently the general manager at VLPS Las Vegas, has worked in the lighting industry since 1989. He began his career with then Vari-Lite as a technician/programmer and worked his way up through the ranks, holding various management positions. He has experience in virtually every aspect of the entertainment lighting industry including production and logistics, technical services, and sales/rentals.

"With his extensive experience and likeable personality, he could have chosen to go anywhere, so we are truly honored that Todd has chosen to join 4Wall Entertainment. I am confident that Todd will successfully push 4Wall into new rental markets and introduce us to new market segments," noted Michael Cannon, CEO of 4Wall Entertainment.

"I wholeheartedly believe in 4Wall's philosophy of 'Large enough to service. Small enough to care,'" Mertzel said. "I believe that every client should receive the same level of service - whether they are renting one fixture or an entire lighting package. At 4Wall, I will have the ability to work with clients all the way through the project - from the first phone call, to the doors closing on the truck at the end of the show. Also, 4Wall has a great team of people who have that same attitude. That is important to me and to all of 4Wall's clients, and that is why I look forward to working at 4Wall."
