Housing For Master Classes in NYU Dorms

For the first time, Live Design has been able to arrange inexpensive housing in NYU dorms starting on Sunday, May 17, 2009 for attendees at the Live Design Broadway Lighting Master Classes and Broadway Projection Master Classes at the special rate of just $70 per night in air-conditioned rooms in a suite with shared bathroom. All participants must be 17 years of age to stay in the dorm, and family members or friends not registered for the Master Classes cannot be accommodated. The dorms are within easy walking distance of the Classes.

“This is a great opportunity for low-cost housing during the classes,” says Ellen Lampert-Gréaux, conference director for the Live Design Master Classes. “The dorms are very convenient and much less expensive than the average hotel in New York City. We hope this will allow additional people the possibility to attend the Master Classes, especially this year when budgets are tight.”

All of the dorm rooms are furnished with a twin size bed, dresser, and desk for each resident. There is overhead lighting in each bedroom. Please note that smoking is not permitted in NYU Housing. This includes individual bedrooms.

The NYU dorms provide 24-hour security. All residents will receive a temporary ID card upon checking in. Residents will be required to present this ID card upon entry into the residence hall.

A packet of linen and bedding is provided to each resident at check-in. The linen packet includes a small towel, sheet set, pillow, and blanket. Laundry facilities are available for use by residents in each residence hall. NYU does not provide toiletries to short-term residents.

Please note NYU does not provide in-room telephone, cable television or Internet service to short-term residents. Cleaning service is not provided in occupied rooms. Residents are responsible for the daily upkeep of their own room.

The schedule for the 2009 Master Classes is as follows:
May 16-17: Broadway Sound Master Classes
May 18-20: Broadway Lighting Master Classes
May 21: Broadway Projection Master Classes
