Meyer Sound and LCS Audio announced that Meyer Sound is acquiring LCS, makers of multi-channel digital audio mixing and processing products and electronic acoustic enhancement such as VRAS, CueConsole, CueStation, Matrix3, SpaceMap and WildTracks. The union of these two companies results from successful collaboration on the development of Galileo loudspeaker management system, and underscores Meyer Sound’s commitment to digital audio as part of its vision for the future of professional sound reinforcement.

“LCS has created digital platforms that deliver unique and fascinating capabilities,” says John Meyer, president and CEO of Meyer Sound. “A strong relationship was created with LCS through the development of Galileo and I look forward to leveraging their technologies to give users the same high level of quality and functionality in digital products as we have in everything Meyer Sound makes.”

LCS CEO John McMahon sees the acquisition as expanding growth opportunities by combining LCS’ proven technologies with Meyer Sound’s marketing and manufacturing expertise. “Our products have been used by some of the world’s leading sound designers for years,” says McMahon. “Meyer Sound’s excellent reputation and profile in audio worldwide will enable us to provide innovative products to broader markets and continue pushing the state of the art forward in new ways.”

The acquisition of LCS by Meyer Sound, was a natural decision for both companies, whose highly complementary products are often used together in theaters around the world. “We have long respected the integrity, creativity and innovation of the LCS team and its products” says Helen Meyer, executive vice president of Meyer Sound. “Integrating the two companies bolsters Meyer Sound’s research capabilities to further our aims in advancing digital audio. We are genuinely pleased to join forces with people who share our vision.”

LCS will continue to operate from their existing offices in Sierra Madre, Calif., and Vernon, British Columbia, Canada, while CEO John McMahon and senior vice president Steve Ellison will work to raise awareness and understanding of the LCS line of products.
