Gear Source Inc. has created Rental Source LLC, a fresh new concept providing production rental referrals for lighting, sound, staging and video gear on a global level.
The recently formed company features a partnership between Gear-Source, Inc. and it’s President, Marcel Fairbairn plus Henry Kones. Both gentlemen have long-standing rapport and credibility in the entertainment industry making this a very powerful new partnership.
Kones most recently served as South Eastern Sales Manager for automated lighting manufacturer, High End Systems. In this position, he found himself referring rentals on a daily basis. "Not many companies really have exactly the inventory they need at all times. Our goal is to help market your inventory to the world. On the other hand, if you don’t have enough gear for a production or tour, we will provide a huge database to search and locate whatever you need," Kones says. "We’ve simplified the process of putting together a show, or sourcing additional gear, whether the show is in your home city or on another continent."
Rental-Source is creating a massive, web based, global rental network comprised of the most basic gear to cutting edge equipment of all types. Thousands of listings will be available for search either by brand, type, geographical location, vendor rating, or other criteria. Also, a user may choose to utilize the powerful Virtual Production Assistant (VPA) and search based on venue size or type, size of audience, type of production, music genre, etc. The VPA is something never before used to locate production equipment but will make the process easier for those who are not sure what their needs are for a particular event or production.
"From a design standpoint, we are drawing from the most talented web developers available. These are people who develop massive e-commerce, banking and industrial websites," Fairbairn says. "Our goal is not to intimidate you, but to embrace new technology and create a powerful tool to simplify your planning process. We will offer cross-marketing between the companies allowing a vendor to list an item for rental and / or sale with links between these listings." The site will also debut a "Featured Products" area directly linking the customer to companies who carry hard to find high technology rental items such as new media servers, LEDs, line array systems, and digital consoles.
Rental-Source.com will launch on August 15th. Until that time, the company has put up a Beta site for the purpose of gathering a foundation of listings. To list your gear (It’s FREE!!), visit the company at www.rental-source.com and sign on.
