In a joint effort, iLight Ltd. will offer lighting controls from NY-based Leviton Manufacturing Company under the new Zen brand. iLight’s Zen range of mood lighting controls is based on the successful Leviton Dimensions™ D3200 dimming system. iLight will actively market the new dimming systems through existing channels as well as establishing a new network of dealers aimed specifically at the smart home market.
"iLight and Leviton have great synergy," states David Kerr, director of iLight Ltd. "Joint development of the Zen range enables both companies to gain access to the growing European market, and for the first time provides European users with a real choice in home light control."
Originally designed for the US market, Leviton’s Dimensions D3200 dimming system has quickly won market share against well-entrenched US competitors. Tailored for the 230/240V market by iLight’s design team, the D3200 is now part of iLights’s Zen range of dimming systems, offering a new level of sophistication in multi-point dimming and scene control functionality.
"Zen dimming and scene control systems reduce the number of components needed to achieve a scene control network and afford users an easy-to-use, cost-effective way to control lighting in their homes," explains Selin Glickman, director of product management for Leviton’s Lighting Control division. "The systems are ideal for home theatres, home offices and anywhere in the home where mood and task lighting is desired. On-screen wizards easily guide users through every step of programming and operation," she adds.
The Zen range is suited to single-room or whole-house lighting control. The compact self-contained units, each with up to six circuits of scene set dimming, may be used on their own or with additional remote control push button plates. Each Zen dimmer unit has an integral time clock, LCD display, up to 32 different lighting scenes, and is fully CE compliant.
For more comprehensive systems, the Zen dimmers may be linked together using Cat-5 network cable to construct systems with up to 248 circuits and 100 devices. The Audio Visual Gateway enables users to link their lighting system to their AV or home cinema system. Coupled with a choice of iLight’s elegant push button control plates, the Zen range provides a stylish and powerful package for residential applications.
