Digital Projection International (DPI), an Emmy Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, announced the launch of a new home entertainment-oriented and cost-effective projection display based on 3-chip DLP™ technology by Texas Instruments: the MERCURY HD. The 1280 x 720 native resolution MERCURY HD was formally introduced at the CEDIA Expo.
The MERCURY HD delivers 1,750 ANSI lumens and 2400:1 contrast ratio and features Texas Instruments’ Dark Metal™ DMD’s for superior black-level performance. It employs a low-cost, long-life High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamp system and can be outfitted with a variety of fixed and power zoom lenses. The MERCURY HD is ideal for small to medium-sized home theaters, multi-function family rooms or dedicated media rooms.
"The powerful, high-contrast MERCURY HD is the perfect projection system for those who desire the clear and superior benefits of 3-chip DLP™ imaging at an exceptional value," said George Walter, home cinema marketing manager for Digital Projection, Inc. "There has been a compelling need for a product like the MERCURY HD in the home cinema marketplace, and as the Leader in 3-chip DLP™ displays, Digital Projection is thrilled to be the first company to provide this platform.”
The MERCURY HD complements DPI’s existing line of single-chip and 3-chip DLPTM home cinema projection systems including the iVision HD, HIGHlite Platinum HC, HIGHlite Gold HC and the flagship DLP Cinema™ certified iS10.
