Recently, The Smithsonian Institution added Color Kinetics’ intelligent digital lighting technology to the permanent collection of the National Museum of American History, Behring Center. The display ranges from the first ever intelligent LED illumination device built by Color Kinetics’ co-founders George Mueller and Dr. Ihor Lys to many of the company’s current products. A written history of Color Kinetics is also included. The display stands alongside early inventions by Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, and others as part of US technology history.
