Creative consultant Jules Fisher has announced three panels as part of the BLMC: Lighting designers new to Broadway; Scenic designers; and Collaboration for Lucky Guy....
The schedule for the 2013 Broadway Lighting Master Classes, celebrating its 20th anniversary edition May 31-June 3, includes three panel discussions organized by BLMC creative consultant Jules Fisher.
The first panel features a talented group of designers who are new or fairly new to the Broadway scene, including: Jeff Croiter, Tony Award-winner for Peter And The Starcatcher; Jason Lyons, whose credits include Rock of Ages and Bring It On; Jane Cox, who designed this season’s revival of Picnic; and Justin Townsend, LD this season for Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.
The second panel features leading scenic designers, who will shed light on the design process: Santo Loquasto, three-time Tony winner; Donyale Werle, Tony winner for Peter And The Starcatcher; David Korins, Motown and Annie most recently; and Derek McLane, Tony winner for 33 Variations, plus recent productions of The Heiress and Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The 2013 BLMC concludes with a Lucky Guy design collaboration panel featuring lighting designers Jules Fisher, and two-time Tony winner Peggy Eisenhauer (Assassins and Jelly's Last Jam); scenic designer David Rockwell, whose credits include Hairspray; sound designer Scott Lehrer, Tony winner for South Pacific; Robin Sylvestri of Batwin + Robin, who also designed Normal Heart recently, and costumer Toni-Leslie James, whose Broadway career debuted back in 1992 with Tony and Drama Desk nominations for Jelly's Last Jam.
