Registration Open For 2009 Live Design Broadway Master Classes

Online registration is now open for the 2009 Live Design Broadway Master Classes with an early-bird special representing $100 off all prices through March 28, 2009. Tony Award-winning lighting designer Jules Fisher and legendary sound designer Abe Jacob are once again the creative consultants for these intensive professional training courses.

The schedule for the 2009 Broadway Master Classes is as follows:

•7th annual Broadway Sound Master Classes, May 16-17, at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, 721 Broadway, New York City

•15th annual Broadway Lighting Master Classes, May 18-20, NYU’s Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, 566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square South

•5th annual Projection Master Classes, May 21, NYU’s Eisner Lubin Auditorium, Kimmel Center, 60 Washington Square South, NYC.

For the first time, Live Design has been able to arrange inexpensive housing in NYU dorms starting on Sunday, May 17, 2009 for attendees at the Live Design Broadway Lighting Master Classes and Broadway Projection Master Classes at the special rate of just $70 per night in air-conditioned rooms in a suite with shared bathroom. All participants must be 17 years of age to stay in the dorm, and family members or friends not registered for the Master Classes cannot be accommodated. The dorms are within easy walking distance of the Classes.

“All three of the Master Classes are back at NYU this year, and we are excited to renew our relationship with the Tisch School of the Arts, The Skirball Center, and the Kimmel Center” says David Johnson, associate publisher of Live Design. “The projection classes will once again focus on Broadway projection design, with attendance at a Broadway show for the first time and an in-depth analysis of the image design and technology.”

Additional information, prices, and an online registration form for the 2009 Live Design Master Classes can be found at: livedesignonline.com/masterclasses.
