Leading projection designers, technicians, and consultants make up the expert faculty for the fourth annual Live Design Projection Master Classes in New York City, to be hosted at the XL LED Lab in SoHo, on Monday, May 19, 2008. This one-day exploration of cutting-edge LED video and digital lighting covers both creative design applications and in-depth technology presentations. The day concludes with a networking cocktail party.
The Live Design Projection Master Classes provide the perfect opportunity to learn about the most creative LED video and digital lighting products that exist, how to work with them, and how to integrate them into all types of designs. Designers including Patrick Dierson of Artfag/Performance Environment Design and Bruce Rodgers of Tribe are on the cutting-edge of design using LED video and digital projection products on a wide range of projects. David Taylor, a consultant for Arup, addresses the use of LED projection products in permanent installations, while Tommy Hague of Mode Studios, and Joshua Fleitell and Lars Pedersen of Scharff Weisberg push the technology to new limits.
Brief bios and more information on the Live Design Master Classes faculty members can be found on the Speakers page.
The new XL LED Lab, located in New York City’s SoHo district, is a unique space, which showcases LED video technology from all over the world. The lab offers over 35 full-scale installations of the leading LED video and digital lighting products from a range of top manufacturers including (among others) Barco, Element Labs, G-Lec, Traxon, PixelRange, Beadlight and Martin. This one of a kind immersive environment allows designers—lighting, scenic, interior, tradeshow, event, architectural, even environment designers— to see and experiment with products side-by-side, allowing designers to explore all the different possible applications when making their creative decisions.
