CMC, Backstage Disney, And Training Day Events

CMC Logo

During the first-ever Concert Master Classes (CMC) taking place at CenterStaging in Los Angeles in December, attendees have the opportunity to extend their stay—before and/or after—with additional events.

The main event, the CMC, will be held Saturday, December 11 and Sunday, December 12 as an intensive two-day course covering lighting and projection for the concert stage. Jeff Ravitz of Visual Terrain serves as creative consultant, and additional confirmed speakers to date include Butch Allen, Bob Bonniol, Justin Collie, Patrick Dierson, Anne Militello, and Peter Morse, plus Jim Moody and Paul Dexter, authors of Concert Lighting, Third Edition, Techniques, Art and Business.

Sponsors to date—all participating in the onsite manufacturers showcases—include Christie Lites, Martin Professional, PRG, 4Wall, A.C.T Lighting, Chauvet, Creative Stage Lighting, and GLP.
Bookending the CMC are two additional events, all part of All Access LA. Backstage Disney Day will be held on Friday, December 10, while Technical Training Day will be held at TMB on Monday, December 13.

Attendees to Backstage Disney Day at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will get behind-the-scenes tours of the Hyperion Theatre and the new World of Color water and light show. Technical staff will be on hand to discuss how they make it all happen.

Those sticking around for Technical Training Day at TMB headquarters will have a full day of hands-on training, including programming on an Avolites Pearl Expert with Touch Wings (running Titan software) and media server programming on the Green Hippo Hippoportamus laptops.

Registration is available for all three events separately, any combination of two, or as a package including all three events (four days).
