Steve Sockey, a partner at SIA Acoustics, says he’s thrilled to be part of the Broadway Sound Master Classes among so many accomplished people, both faculty and attendees. During his session, “Designing Acoustic And Electro-Acoustic Solutions For Both Live Events And Permanent Facilities” on Sunday May 18, he hopes the exchange of ideas and spirited dialogue here will lead many of us to fresh directions and experiences in the forthcoming year.
 
Says Sockey, “I hope our session will be helpful, particularly for those of us who work with amplified sound, because a common but often unsolved concern is acoustics. Identifying the actual issues—let alone how to address them—can be elusive. Our session will suggest a methodology and discuss practical ways to address acoustical concerns while fitting into the context of modern production.”
