Here's what people are saying:

"BLMC opened my eyes to the world of visual communication with Light."
"BPMC was a great insight into the life of projection designers on Broadway. It also gave me a sense of the state of the art."
"BSMC was a great opportunity to experience the pinnacle of sound design. It supplied me with ideas that could be modified to work in academic and community settings."

Abe Jacob Heads 2012 BSMC

Register by February 17 for the lowest rates of the season!

Abe Jacob is back as the creative consultant for the Live Design Broadway Sound Master Classes, which take place Friday, May 18 (Broadway show), and Saturday-Sunday, May 19-20 at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Jacob is considered by many to be the “godfather” of theatre sound design. He recently designed RAIN: A Tribute To The Beatles on Broadway, and began his career mixing for such 1960s legends as Jimi Hendrix. His theatrical sound design credits include Jesus Christ Superstar, A Chorus Line, Cats, and the original production of Evita. He is the in-house sound guru at the David H. Koch Theatre at Lincoln Center, for New York City Ballet and New York City Opera.

“Without Mr. Abe Jacob, I would be lost and drowned, deep in the art of sound, without having been able to express my creative thoughts and ideas for live entertainment sound,” says sound designer and frequent BSMC faculty member Jonathan Deans. “Abe is a pathfinder, mentor, and a gentleman. Any one of these is hard to find in an individual, and yet, he has shared so much with those of us lucky enough to work with him.”

For the BSMC, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, Jacob promises an enticing mix of new and returning speakers, a few technical sessions, and in-depth coverage of the sound design for a Broadway musical. Take his word for it, and register by February 17 to take advantage of the low “confidence rates” for the BSMC, as well as the Broadway Lighting Master Classes (BLMC) and Broadway Projection Master Classes (BPMC), a great triple header.
