CMC Speaker Spotlight: Patrick Dierson

Patrick Dierson be co-presenting a session with Arnold Serame, Programmers: The Design Perspective From Behind The Console, on December 4 during the Concert Master Classes in Los Angeles.

"The progression from programmer to designer is such a common path in the industry these days that it's great to see the CMC's devoting a specific session to it," says Dierson. "I'm particularly honored to be joining Arnold Serame on this panel, as he was instrumental in my decision to initially become a freelance programmer. It was a decision that changed my life in no small fashion." The duo will discuss the programmer's role and how he extends the reach of the designer, as well as looking at the role of the designer who programs his own shows.

Dierson has been called upon for numerous high-level productions, including tours for Jay-Z, Shakira, R. Kelly, Bon Jovi, and Dashboard Confessional, as well as shows for Wynn Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the MTV Video Music Awards, various appearances for artists on VH1, and numerous special events for the NFL, NBA, and NHL sporting organizations.

Dierson designed Motorola's latest Razr launch, with a performance by 50 Cent.

He earned an Emmy® Award nomination for his work on the post September 11th musical telethon America: A Tribute to Heroes. Most recently D,ierson  served as the screens producer for the 2011 Walmart International Shareholders Meeting and BET’s Black Girls Rock along with being a lighting director for the Clinton Foundation’s Decade of Difference concert at the Hollywood Bowl.
