The BSMC this year, I believe, has been one of the absolute best ones ever (I've attended them all!). The show we saw, Pippin, is a fantastic show, the performances are superb, the technical elements are very polished and the sound, in particular, is truly dynamic and beautifully mixed, paying special attention to details in the music so important to a Bob Fosse show!
This year we held the class presentations relating to the show BEFORE attending on Friday night ( my suggestion was taken!), a departure from years past, which served to bring into focus aspects of the design which otherwise might have been missed, had we not discussed them earlier with Jonathan Deans and Garth Helm. Accordingly, the Q&A session after the show was more "on point" as a learning tool.
AND...Pippin won a number of Tony awards the night after our classes ended!
All in all, a very fine BSMC!
CHEERS! to all who attended!
