Who's Doing What

Lighting designer Thomas C. Hase worked on The Blonde, Brunette and Vengeful Redhead, a co-production of Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and the Dallas Theatre Center. He also designed a new production of I Puritani at Seattle Opera, opening this month with Linda Brovsky directing, Robert Dahlstrom as scenic designer, and Peter Hall as costume designer. Hase also designed lighting for Pelléas et Mélisande at Canadian Opera Company with Nicholas Muni directing, Dany Lyne as scenic and costume designer, and John Frautschy as associate lighting designer. Hase will also be working on the Cincinnati Opera 2008 season, including four operas in repertory through August 1…Houston Grand Opera (HGO) continues its 53rd season with Billy Budd, a co-production of the Welsh National Opera and Opera Australia running through May 9, with sets designed by Brian Thomson of Australia, costumes by Carl Friedrich Oberle of Germany, and lighting design by Nigel Levings of Australia…Creating the world of The Comedy of Errors April 30 to May 18 at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey are set designer Wilson Chin, lighting designer Charlie Morrison, and costume designer Alixandra Englund. Kathy Snyder serves as production stage manager…choreographer Karole Armitage will stage the world premiere of Ariadne Unhinged at New York City's Gotham Chamber Opera Company, May 7 to 11, with lighting design by Clifton Taylor, scenic design by Vera Lutter, and costume design by Peter SpeliopoulosDawn Chiang has joined Dragone as senior technical supervisor for a new permanent production at the City of Dreams in Macau, where she will be based through early Spring 2009. Chiang is also designing the lighting for a new co-production, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for San Jose Repertory in May 2008…The Eccentricities of a Nightingale opens May 5 and runs through May 24 at the Clurman Theatre in New York City. The design team is Darryl Bornstein (sound), David Toser (costumes), Lucrecia Briceno (lighting), and Bill Clarke (sets).
