Color Kinetics Incorporated has appointed Philip O'Donnell as vice president, North American sales and Paul Kallmes as director of licensing. O'Donnell will oversee direct and channel sales for the company's lighting systems business. He previously spent 26 years at Strand Lighting, where he led the company as CEO for four years. Kallmes will oversee the identification and development of licensing opportunities that extend the value of intellectual property and expertise to third-party manufacturers. He most recently served as director of business development for Rockwell Scientific Licensing. In addition, the company has appointed Ellen Bossert as vice president of marketing. She most recently served as CEO of Zoesis Studios, a developer of artificial intelligence-based entertainment technology for commercial use. Her marketing experience includes leadership roles at Hasbro and Converse, as well as high-tech start-ups Domania and MIT Media Lab spin-off Presto Technologies. (

Apollo Design Technology, Inc. announces the addition of KC Hooper as product specialist to its sales and marketing team. His experience includes eight years with Rosco Labs and 22 years as technical director and lighting designer at Arizona State University. (

ETC has promoted David Smith to be the second field project coordinator for the western regional office in Hollywood. He will work with Tim Guion, ETC western regional sales manager and Karl Haas, ETC architectural regional manager. Smith will join colleague David West in covering the sales region, which includes Hollywood, Las Vegas, and Western Canada. Most recently Smith was the lead trainer and support person for the new ETC Congo control console installation at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno at NBC Studios in Burbank, CA. (

ARRI Inc. has hired Fred H. Horne as the Northeast lighting sales manager and Mike Jones as technical sales representative. Horne is now part of the Blauvelt, NY, team, taking over for Roger Dean, who now covers the Southern region. Previously, Horne served as sales executive for Fourth Phase (PRG), in charge of lighting rentals and sales for TV and film productions in the New York City area. Jones, formerly of lighting and grip rental house 1st Unit, is based out of the Burbank, CA, office. (

Lighting Services Inc (LSI) has formed a strategic partnership with TIR Systems Ltd. to develop a range of LEXEL-based fixtures that produce white light with a full range of color temperatures and that can be dimmed without the color temperature being affected. (

Leviton Manufacturing has promoted William Marshall to senior vice president of sales and marketing and Daryoush Larizadeh to senior vice president. Marshall joined Leviton in 1994 as vice president of distribution marketing and was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing in 2003. Larizadeh joined Leviton in 2001, helping to pilot the company's operational efficiency programs. (

Hollywood-based Design Partners, Inc. (DPI), an association of lighting designers and directors of photography, announced the election of Marisa Davis to partner. Nominated for an Emmy in both 2003 and 2004 for her work on The Ellen Degeneres Show, Davis has served as the show's lighting director since its 2003 premiere. (
