Text messaging: It has become so easy with the new generation of cell phones. I find I can quietly multi-task with other collaborators who may be sitting in a theatre themselves and unable to talk.
JBL Onstage iPod portable sound station: It sounds amazing and sits right on the tech table or in a hotel room. With the IR remote attachment for the iPod, I can control it from the stage. The “on-tour” version runs on batteries.
Kensington FlyLight LED with a small USB hub (pictured): I can have four gooseneck lights all set and ready. Kensington's FlyFan USB Fan is great, too.
