Mike Goddard, national sales manager for Clear-Com Intercom Systems, passed away on February 17. He provided sales leadership to Clear-Com since 1985, and was instrumental in bringing the company and its products into the professional broadcast industry. Mike also never lost sight of Clear-Com's roots in live events communications, and his own passion for live theatre and performance led to generous personal and corporate support of the performing arts.

Business was personal to Mike, and he valued his relationships with dealers and distributors--knowing that the way to success is holding the needs of your customers foremost. His many friends in the industry will miss his quick humor, his decisiveness, and his knack for getting things done.

Mike's family was at the center of his life, and he thoroughly enjoyed the time he and his wife Nancy spent with their children and grandchildren. That love extended to other children as well. A recent effort of his that will have to be completed without him is providing a paratransport van for Children's Hospital in Oakland, so that in-patient children can be transported to community events.

The Mike Goddard Memorial Fund has been organized to help realize this dream. Contributions to this effort can be made payable to: CHO Pediatrics Rehab Activity Fund and mailed to Children's Hospital Oakland, Pediatrics Rehab Dept., c/o Karen Matsuura, 747 52nd Street, Oakland, CA 94602.
