David Bowling, an Orlando, FL-based lighting designer and technician who was part of the team that got Universal's Islands of Adventure and Men in Black: Alien Attack attraction off the ground, has joined Murphy Lighting Systems' sales staff. Bowling's focus at the Orlando company, which provides dimming, control, power distribution, performance lighting instruments, and systems integration service for theatres, theme parks, TV studios, convention centers, churches, hotels, and other venues, will be on system sales and boxed goods. Bowling, the winner of two 2001 International Illumination Design Awards of Merit, previously opened the Orlando office of the lighting design firm Lightswitch. For the past two years, he has served on the board of directors of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America's central Florida chapter.
