If you find yourself in Hong Kong at night, make like Corey Hart, and have your sunglasses ready. The Hong Kong Tourism Commission enlisted Laservision of Australia to consult on the Harbour Lighting Plan, creating a massive, permanent, nightly light show to captivate the 18 million tourists drawn to the city each year. To celebrate the city's rich cultural tapestry, Laservision's plan incorporates fireworks, individually lit buildings (such as the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, and HSBC), searchlights, and 50W Stella-Ray Lasers. With only the first of three stages complete, the already dazzling display is coordinated by 19 Laservision Digital Data-Pumps, with effects operated and controlled via a simple touch screen.
