Bruce Rodgers Joins Projection Master Classes at LDI2008

Award-winning designer Bruce Rodgers of Tribe Inc.*has joined the faculty for the cutting-edge Live Design Projection Master Classes to be held in conjunction with LDI2008, October 21-23, 2008 in Las Vegas. Rodgers will present a case study of two of his recent design projects: Rascal Flatts’ visually compelling Me and My Gang tour; and the energy-charged Democratic National Convention in August, where video played a starring role at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

Rodgers designed the Rascal Flatts’ set in conjunction with IMAG Video. “I did last year’s set for Rascal Flatts,” says Rodgers, “but this year, we wanted to introduce something new—something with a completely odd aspect ratio for an LED wall. We presented three options to the band, all based around LED video imagery.  And in the end, they went with the most daring of the three ideas. The decision to use Barco tiles was based on direct product comparisons, and the OLITE and DLITE tiles were the clear choice.  They’re crispy, perfect, and beautiful.”

“We are extremely excited to add Bruce to the Projection Master Classes,” says LDI conference director Ellen Lampert-Gréaux. “There have been some changes in the Master Classes schedule due to conflicting schedules by designers, which means we were able to add Bruce to the mix. He is a wonderful speaker as well as one of the most talented designers on the planet.”

Sponsors for the Projection Master Classes at LDI include Platinum sponsors Barco and Scharff Weisberg, plus corporate sponsors coolux international, Element Labs, PRG, and TMB/Green Hippo.
