“…much more like a media server—multiple layers, movie playback.”
Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) introduced Eos in 2006, when it took home an LDI Debuting Product Award. It wasn’t until the latest software release, however, that it really caught the eyes of our panel of Products Of The Year judges.
The console’s new built-in media server functionality (Virtual Media Server) did the trick. "For LED arrays, it’s great having it built into the console," says one judge. "For those who’ve used pixel-mapping functions in other consoles, this is much more like a media server—multiple layers, movie playback." That’s only one of the new features in the upgrade. Others include the addition of playback status display time countdown and a new patch function called GM Exempt, where channels, shielded submasters, and effects can be exempt from grandmaster, blackout, rem dim, and go to cue 0 operations.
