It’s that time of year again: the 27th LDI Trade Show and Conference for live event professionals, where more than 9,700 attendees from 88 countries will come to see the 350+ exhibitors. This year, be among the many to experience this industry’s hottest event from November 17-23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
This year LDI introduces its new focus on the international phenomenon of electronic dance music. Penton/LDI and Marked Events, which produces the BPM and PRO trade shows in the UK, will hold EDM@LDI from November 19-23, featuring a special section of the LDI show floor dedicated to everything EDM: DJ, VJ, lighting, projection, audio, and staging. EDM@LDI will also include live demos, performances, and club tours.
LDI has entered into an agreement with DJ TechTools, the world’s largest global DJ website, that will promote EDM@LDI to its dedicated fan base of 600,000 aspiring and professional DJs from around the world, as well as participate in some panels and sessions. Ean Golden, DJ TechTools founder, a leading industry inventor and designer, and widely respected DJ, will be hosting two sessions, including an in-depth look into “Creative Controllerism,” highlighting the art of the DJ and how today’s technologies can bring game-changing creativity to a set. Due to the incredible success of the debut of Live Design’s Electronic Dance Music Master Classes (EDMMC) held last December in Los Angeles, EDMMC will now be a part of LDI in two sections: one for lighting and video, and one for sound reinforcement. Steve Lieberman of SJ Lighting and Vello Virkhaus of V Squared Labs are creative consultants for EDMMC Lighting and Projection, while Todd Konecny and Rupert AG Murray of Sound Investment Audio, Ltd. are creative consultants for EDMMC Sound.
LDI 2014 offers hands-on training and behind-the-scenes access: Backstage Las Vegas, providing an insider’s look at Vegas shows and venues; LDInstitute™, focusing on comprehensive technical training from video content creation to hands-on lighting console training to the rigging and electrical boot camp and more; LDInnovation & Technology Conference, comprising the latest design techniques, technology, and projects, with many sessions carrying ETCP renewal credits for certified riggers and electricians; the Club Tour, an off-hours exclusive exploration of the design and technology of the four hottest night spots in town; and the Projection Master Classes (PMC@LDI), looking at the creative and technical processes of projection, led by creative consultant Bob Bonniol, co-founder of Mode Studios. Undergrad and grad students can also earn college credit for four courses via the UF@LDI program, a first of its kind in terms of college credit for professional-level training.
Don’t miss out on the most important networking opportunity for the live entertainment industry. See you in Vegas in November.
