New Fire Vent Closures Maintain Theatre Safety

Thern’s Fire Vent Closure Winch does not break the Electro Thermal Link that automatically releases vent doors in the event of fire or smoke alarm.

Most theatres are required to be equipped with fire vents. At present, many of these vents are operated with hand winches or other types of equipment not specifically designed for that purpose. In particular, they are not easily inspected and tested–a procedure that should be done frequently. Thern’s Fire Vent Closure Winch solves the problem by allowing testing and resetting without breaking the Electro Thermal Link that automatically releases the vent doors.

The Fire Vent Closure Winch includes hinged access panel locks closed to prevent unauthorized operation, a test arm providing a convienent method for testing fire vent operation, and an optional guard to protect FVC winch and prevent unauthorized use or tampering.
