Stage Tech, Inc. Enters 30th Year

Stage Tech, Inc. a lighting, audio, staging, and rigging production company, is celebrating 30 years of serving the entertainment industry. Now in its 30th year, Stage Tech, Inc.’s focus is still to provide the utmost in originality and the latest in technology to its customers in the entertainment industry. Its inventory experiences constant growth, with investments in the latest technology. Stage Tech, Inc. continues to listen to market demands, strategize for growth, maximize creativity, seek and implement marketing opportunities, and above all, has a firm commitment to providing the best customer service possible.

Owner and chief engineer John Reed created the company in 1975 as a theatrical supply house, which owned a small inventory of theatrical fixtures, mostly Ellipsoidals and Fresnels. By 1978, the company had begun touring. Reed remained on the road as lighting designer and director until 1990, when he decided to stop touring and stay home to run the business. Although live entertainment an important part of Stage Tech, Inc., Reed’s decision to expand into a different market segments (Corporate Theatre, Tradeshows, and Special Events) led to major growth in the following years.

Reed’s goal was to bring the creativity that he had used for live entertainment into the corporate environment. This enabled the corporate client to increase the imagination and excitement in their conventions and meetings. Due to market demand for a full service production house, in 1996 Reed invested in the company’s first audio system and now offers a full package of lighting, audio, staging, rigging, and outdoor roofs to his customers. The company is located just northeast of Indianapolis, IN.
